The TMI8160I is a multi-channel motor driver IC specifically designed for low-voltage, multi-motor systems. It integrates a 5-channel H-bridge driver circuit, which can be utilized for driving stepper motors in two PTZ gimbal channels and one IR cut channel. TMI8160I employs a 2-wire I2C communication interface. It features adjustable microsteps capability, supporting up to 256 microsteps. The built-in rotation count and speed control logic enables precise position and speed control of stepper motors. The spread spectrum function reduces the overall EMI characteristics of the chip. The torque retention function maintains the motor's output torque when the stepper motor is stationary. The current auto-gain control function regulates the output torque of the stepper motor and reduces TMI8160I power consumption in low torque demand scenarios. TMI8160I incorporates two IO ports that can serve as the IO port of MCU or motor status indicators. TMI8160I provides comprehensive protection features, including VM undervoltage protection, overvoltage protection, and internal thermal shutdown protection. TMI8160I is available in a QFN3x3-20 package, compliant with RoHS standards, with a 100% lead-free pin frame.
