The TMS8931 is a mono filter-less class-G amplifier with high SNR and differential input that eliminate noise. With an alternative option between Class-D and Class-AB output, which makes the device very ideal for efficiency-EMI compatible applications. Integrated charger-pump DC-DC convertor raise output power up to 4.5W even at battery supply with 4Ω loading and no inductor needed. Features like higher than 70% efficiency and small PCB area make the TMS8931 class-D amplifier ideal for portable devices. The filter-less architecture requires no external output filter, fewer external components, less PCB area and lower system costs, and simplifies application design. Built-in Adaptive PWM Control and Soft-Clipping Power Limit technology makes TMS8931 sound reduce distorted at large signal. With the softdriving, the edge of the PWM at output stage is very flat which is very useful for EMI suppressing. The TMS8931 features battery guard, short circuit protection, thermal shutdown and under voltage lock-out. The TMS8931 is available in ESSOP-10L package.
